A new space at the Métropole Hotel: The Odyssey

Karl Lagerfeld is known for his immense talent, a sentiment expressed by Chanel, Fendi and many more.  He is also recognised by his character touches with knowing how to handle any type of photography, luxury design, couture, cinema and music.  After having been attacked by VIP helicopters, it is by the pool of the famous Métropole hotel that the “Kaiser” has decided to lay down his pencil, inspired by Homer, Odysseus and his odyssey.

Now guests can reproduce the “Journey of Odysseus in the Mediterranean” by wading in the pool or by getting a drink at the bar of this new lounge area named “Odyssey”.

By a set of 18 glass screens, created for this occasion, representing dreamlike scenes of the Greek islands and a modern and refined furniture arrangement, Karl Lagerfeld has cleverly outfitted the pool, gardens and restaurant of the Métropole.

Portraits of young people, men and women, youths and warriors are reflected at nightfall by the crystal clear pool water.

Throughout this magnificent space something other than a geographical journey is taking place; it is a journey through time.  Settled into the armchairs on the terrace, you feel privileged, like a king of ancient Greece enjoying the pleasures of life.

To help you refuel, a new menu has been specially created by the great starred chef who needs no introduction, Joël Robuchon.  Based on luxury “Finger-Fooding,” the chef has redesigned the idea of “snacking”.  Let yourself be carried away by the freshness of the cocktails and the lightness of the snacks.  Throughout this space the decoration invites hedonism to this culinary journey.
